A well-advanced 5 inch gauge "Britannia". Work to date is to a good standard and comprises:
- substantially complete chassis which looks ready to run on air (and certainly makes the right sorts of noises when pushed along)
- substantially complete chassis which looks ready to run on air (and certainly makes the right sorts of noises when pushed along)
- silver soldered copper boiler by Kingswood Boilers, complete with manufacturer's test certificate and materials specification
- ashpan with stainless steel grate
- smokebox assembly, along with pair of part-completed smoke deflectors in brass
- set of flue tube superheaters
- box of part finished components, including tender water filters, lubricators, hand pump
- tin of parts and fittings including lost was castings for steam valve handwheels, injectors, water gauge fittings etc
- boiler cladding material
- tender chassis with part-built tank along with formed brass to complete, water scoop
- profiled platework for cab
- sets of nameplates and works plates
Still quite a lot of hours in the shed required to complete, but very little by way of further expenditure; there is the potential to produce a good example of this popular, powerful design.
