Early stage build of a Great Western Pannier tank to LBSC's "Pansy" design.
Work to date comprises:
Rolling chassis with wheels, crank axle, eccentric sheaves,
straps and eccentric rods fitted
Cylinder block machined and fitted
Pair part-machined connecting rods
Bunker sides flanged, complete with formers
Wheels splasher assemblies
Valve chest and cover machined
Pair expansion links
Part-machined reversing quadrant fitted
Smokebox, complete with door, locking bar and chimney
Motion bracket
Part-built side tanks in stainless steel and brass
Part-machined reversing lever
Guide bars
Dome
In addition there are unmachined castings for:
Slide valves
Pump
Safety valve bonnet
There is a set of drawings. Build standard is basically grim,
although in places almost makes it up to mediocre. Castings still available from
Reeves.
