A small Peerless portable engine, dating from around 1904 we believe. It's a diminutive thing, probably around two tons all up and in remarkably good condition for its age - it looks never to have been derelict, turns over very freely still, the mechanical parts are in good order without excessive wear. Boiler has had three tubes removed for inspection - they're beaded in both ends, quite the quality job. Missing firebars (although we have a couple as a pattern) and ashpan, otherwise it looks to be complete.
Wheels are wooden, traditionally built with iron bands. Nearside ones pretty good, both offside require repair work, although look salvageable.
