Built by Marshall of Gainsborough and sold new by William Allchin of Northampton in 1915, it went all the way to Althorp, six miles away, where it worked on an estate until sold a century later. Very original and unmucked about with, it's had repairs over the years but no signs of abuse or neglect - I suspect it's been undercover all its life, probably in a saw mill.

The boiler is the same size as an 8nhp engine we sold recently, the nominal horsepower rating doubled by virtue of the twin, double high cylinders.

 Length 14 feet
Flywheels 5 feet diameter
Weight est 8 tons

https://stationroadsteam.com/products/1915-marshall-16nhp-twin-cylinder-portable-engine-stock-code-6963
