All have suffered in storage, with surface rust and paintwork in poor condition. The first engine he built - a 1 1\/4 inch scale Showmans engine - was started in 1954, followed by a 1 1\/2 inch scale Allchin - started in 1957 and completed in the late 1960s - then this one, started in 1974, before he finished with a \u003ca href=\"\/products\/5-inch-gauge-b1-4-6-0--stock-code-11506\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e5 inch gauge LNER B1\u003c\/a\u003e, started in 1982.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Pumped up to 200psi for a hydraulic test the boiler showed no signs of leaks or distortion, only thing of note was a tiny bead of water on the foundation ring,however it will need the cladding removing before a full inspection and test can be done prior to certification.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Although it turns over freely, the engine currently doesn't run on air, the slide valve only just opening the ports at one end - it needs shortening slightly.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Largely complete, although missing the chimney cap, lubricator lid, safety valve innards, boiler filling plug, grate and ashpan - none of which would be difficult or expensive to make.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    A large engine in full size, it makes an imposing model of handsome proportions in 2 inch scale - \u003ca href=\"\/products\/2-inch-scale-allchin-agricultural-engine-stock-code-9180\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ethere are some pictures in the archive of a fine example we sold earlier in the year.\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Station Road Steam","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":54009969508693,"sku":"11507","price":2450.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1023\/0094\/2677\/files\/11507-1.webp?v=1779899752","url":"https:\/\/stationroadsteam.com\/products\/2-inch-scale-allchin-traction-engine-stock-code-11507","provider":"Station Road Steam","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
