Compound cylinders with inclined slide  valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on footplate.  Coiling and winding gear mounted beneath boiler with dog clutch drive,  controlled by lever from footplate. Two speed transmission, no brakes (just like  the full size engines!).\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eIt has suffered more than its fair share of twiddling over the years, resulting in loose  eccentrics and steering chains, together with a quick and dirty paint job some  time ago featuring black gloss and a tar brush from initial appearances.
