I don't recognise the castings and it came in without drawings (or,  indeed, an extant builder who could be consulted).\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp align=\"left\"\u003eAlthough to a fairly advance stage, I suspect that this engine  was last worked on many years ago. The rolling chassis rolls along freely, the  axles run in gunmetal bushes mounted in steel axleboxes. Cylinders have piston  valves actuated by Walschaert's valve gear with a screw reverser on the  footplate. Steam brakes are fitted, there is an axle-driven water pump.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp align=\"left\"\u003eThe tender is substantially complete, although the tank has been  made in stainless steel. I've had a couple of engines come in with stainless  tenders, it's a good idea in theory, but the stuff is a swine to work and tends  to harden up as you go along, so the sides never seem to come out as flat as  when done in brass.
