However, what he didn't think  about was the rather neat little tender engine produced by deleting the side  tanks - I think it looks a cracking little thing.    \u003cp\u003eThis engine is an older model with slip eccentric valve gear. Silver-soldered  copper boiler with superheater, fed by axle pump and auxiliary hand pump in  tender. Working pressure is 80 psi, the backhead features pressure gauge, water  gauge with blowdown, blower and whistle valve. Outside cylinders with inside  valve chests, mechanical lubricator mounted on running board.\u003c\/p\u003e    \u003cp\u003eThe engine is rather nicely finished in a dark green lined BR livery and goes very  well. I steamed it one afternoon last week and was reminded just how much fun a  small engine is to drive (and again wondered why we lug bl**dy great engines  down to the club track just to give a couple of people a ride - I must need my  head examining running the K36).
