It came in to us as a part exchange a while ago, Mrs P took a shine to it (it's something about red engines) so the engine's been up the house since looking nice - it's recently given up its spot on a sideboard to the Webb Compound that's just come in, by way of a change.

The engine has been built - like most Royal Scots - as a two cylinder engine. Steel boiler with welded tubes, two element superheater. Feed by axle pump with auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, screw reverser in the cab, mechanical lubricator.

The engine is nicely made, fit and finished of the valve gear is particularly good, it's silky smooth to push along. We've had it running on air outside the workshop this morning - there's a clip here. Hand lined and signwritten numbers to cab and "LMS" on the tender.
