The work of an experienced engineer, now in his eighth decade - we've had many  of his engines over the years, from gauge 1 locomotives through stationary  engines to a variety of traction engines in all scales.  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp align=\"left\"\u003e   The last new 3 inch Burrell we had from this builder was back in 2003 - \u003ca href=\"\/products\/stock%20pages\/1960\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ethere  are pictures of it in the archive here.\u003c\/a\u003e This one runs on air well, fit and  finish of machined parts is good, there is some minor surface rust from storage,  the bright steel parts would burnish up again easily. Boiler is not so good -  holds pressure on hydraulic fine, however weld preparation and penetration in  the firebox is not up to standard.  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eSingle cylinder engine, slide valve actuated by  Stephenson's valve gear. Mechanical lubricator, Pickering type governor, hand  operated drain cocks. Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes fed by  crankshaft-mounted pump and injector. Water tank in tender with steam water  lifter. Two speed transmission with band brake fitted to second shaft and  differential behind the nearside rear wheel.
