Twin Ramsbottom-type safety valves, working pressure 100 psi.  Single cylinder with slide valve, Stephenson's valve gear with pole reverser on  footplate. Mechanical lubricator, drain cocks rod-operated from footplate.    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwo speed three-shaft transmission with the usual efficient Burrell  band-brake on the second shaft and winch drum mounted behind the nearside rear  wheel.    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe tender can be filled conventionally through the water pocket on the  offside but there is also a large filler with filter in the centre of the  footplate, which is a most sensible idea.    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is a powerful engine which runs very well.
