{"product_id":"4-inch-scale-burrell-agricultural-engine-stock-code-12778","title":"4 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine","description":"A particularly well made 4 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine to the Live Steam Models design - it's an engine we bought from the builder back in 2014, it's recently arrived back from the gentleman we sold it to back then, having evidently had very little use in the past fifteen years.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The engine was fitted with a 10 inch diameter boiler by the builder - larger than standard, it's a size more commonly found on a road locomotive and offers welcome additional weight to the front end. It's had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued - it's in good condition internally, with thickness readings little changed since last tested by Dave Wothers in 2018.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The pump is well-suited to the demands of the boiler, keeping the water level pretty much constant when running on the road. We've fitted a new injector which works well, although with its steam valve plumbed into the fountain, produces a high water reading when working - a not uncommon \"feature\" with injectors piped up this way.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    On test the engine proved free-steaming and drove very well, with little mechanical noise from either motionwork or gears.
