Whilst responsible for 5 inch gauge locomotives and a 7 1\/4 inch narrow gauge garden railway for his grandchildren - along with a \u003ca href=\"\/products\/7-14-inch-gauge-romulus-with-tender-stock-code-2301\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eRomulus \u003c\/a\u003eand Hunslet to run on it - he's best remembered for the superb 4 inch scale Fowlers that he built, including the \u003ca href=\"\/products\/4-inch-scale-fowler-compound-agricultural-engine-stock-code-2298\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eaward-winning B6 \"My Girl\"\u003c\/a\u003e, a pair of \u003ca href=\"\/products\/4-inch-scale-fowler-k5-ploughing-engine-stock-code-2854\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eK5 ploughing engines\u003c\/a\u003e, an \u003ca href=\"\/products\/4-inch-scale-fowler-a4-agricultural-engine-stock-code-2853\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eA4 agricultural\u003c\/a\u003e and finally a pair of \u003ca href=\"\/products\/4-inch-scale-fowler-b6-fen-engine-stock-code-5832\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eB6 Fen engines\u003c\/a\u003e, including the one you see here.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    For those interested, \u003ca href=\"\/products\/july_2004\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ethere's a writeup of one of the first visits I made to his workshop in the archive.\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    We first met him in 2004 and, over the years, bought all of his engines with the exception of one of the K5s which had been promised to a local schoolmaster (and we did try quite hard to persuade him to part with that one as well!).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    All came to us new and unsteamed - once finished, the builder had no interest in running the engines, we had the privilege of putting the first fire in all of them. They went, as might be expected, every bit as well as they looked.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    This is one of the pair of B6 Fen engines completed in 2012 - we bought both of them at that time, \u003ca href=\"\/products\/4-inch-scale-fowler-b6-fen-engine-stock-code-5832\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ethe original listing is in the archive\u003c\/a\u003e. With one owner since then it has recently come back to us - whilst away we'd forgotten just how big it was!
