It's recently come back in very similar condition, unused since last time it was here.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e    The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e    The engine runs on air, it will require various minor jobs to recommission, including stripping and cleaning the water gauge which is slow to respond. There is some wear apparent in the valve gear and motionwork when running which could be attended to at the end of the season.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e    Words below are from the last time it was here; pictures opposite were taken in recent days.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/font\u003e    A 5 inch narrow gauge Beyer-Peacock 2-4-0 \"Peveril\", the prototype was built for the Isle of Man Railway in 1875 - it remains preserved in their museum on the island.\u003cp\u003e    An older model, this one came to us apparently not having run in some years. It's been in steam for an hour in the workshop this afternoon, running somewhat asthmatically in either direction - forwards better than reverse.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    One injector was usable, the second (mounted above the offside tank) has obviously given trouble in the past and been replaced by a third, fitted underneath the cab floor.\u0026gt;p\u0026gt;    Rather a \"round the houses\" way of fixing a dud injector (we'd have just replaced it), it's been piped through the old injector which has had its innards removed and is now simply used to pass water through to the boiler.
