Last year time came for its boiler  test, we did the hydraulic with no problem, only to find a leak on the backhead  when in steam. Still fizzes in steam and really needs a good clean and some  Comsol - it wouldn't be a particularly involved job but does need  the boiler dropping off the frames.\u003c\/font\u003e    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA 5 inch gauge \"Gert\", designed for A.J.Reeves in the 1950s it was  a well-proportioned, powerful 0-6-0 ideally suited to club running - along with  several other designs, within ten years it fell victim to the \"Simplex  effect\" when Martin Evans' new design, like LBSC's \"Tich\" twenty  years before, gained massive popularity through a well-written, accessible set  of construction articles in \"Model Engineer\" which pushed each design  as the ideal choice for beginners.    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn recent years, this one has enjoyed something of a comeback - a good thing,  in my book, they go well - and a new generation of engines, such as this one,  are begin built.    \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSilver soldered copper boiler with superheaters, working pressure 80psi, feed  by axle pump with hand pump in the side tank.
