A highly talented engineer with several vintage motorbikes, classic cars, trikes and locomotives to his name, he's found that the demands of   \u003ca href=\"\/products\/7-14-inch-gauge-lms-duchess-with-commercial-boiler-stock-code-12680\/\"\u003ea scratch-built 7 1\/4 inch gauge \"Duchess\"\u003c\/a\u003e leave him with little time for club running...\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e    Stored in its carrying crate in a dry workshop for the last six months, it hasn't been out of the box since we dropped it off - it remains in the same excellent condition shown opposite.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/font\u003e    A 5 inch gauge GWR 14XX 0-4-2T to Neville Evans' \"Didcot\" design, a well made and attractively finished engine which remains in good condition throughout.\u003cp\u003e    The boiler had had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued - we've fitted a pair of safety valves, the originals accumulated.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Both injectors proved reliable, the hand pump was effective. There is a crosshead pump fitted, although ineffective in operation - whilst servicing once on the bench is straightforward, removal certainly isn't and so, with three working water feeds we took the decision to leave well alone!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    On test the engine steamed freely, running well in either direction with even exhaust beats and little mechanical noise.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Offered with 12 months warranty, set of firing irons and a starter kit of coal and oil.
