The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued. The engine steams very freely and runs exceptionally well; injectors proved reliable and are backed up by an effective mechanical pump. The steam brakes work well, the ejector for train brakes pulls 15 inches of vacuum.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The safety valves are fine scale which look well, but accumulated on steam test. Using a common 1\/2 x 26tpi thread they could be replaced with commercially available valves, however a more elegant solution would be to re-engineer the existing ones to provide a pop action, which would solve the problem.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    There are minor steam leaks from the regulator flange and steam brake valve - sufficient to make the regulator handle uncomfortable to hold.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Most of work detailed we'd classify as \"fiddly and time-consuming\" rather than involving significant expense.
