Still working well into his eighth decade, current project is a 4 inch scale Burrell DCC road locomotive - well advanced and taking an ever larger part of his modest-sized workshop.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003e   \u003c\/div\u003eThe locomotives were built some years ago and exhibited as a pair at the then Warwick Model Engineering Exhibition on completion. \"Duchess of Montrose\" was finished in BR green livery - sister engine \u003ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/products\/5-inch-gauge-lms-duchess-of-sutherland-stock-code-8104\/\"\u003e\"Duchess of Sutherland\"\u003c\/a\u003e in LMS crimson lake.\u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e  The engine has been test steamed once - on gas - when completed, since then it's been stored in a purpose built crate in the owner's living room. Boiler has yet to see a coal fire, it looks new inside.\u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e  The engine turns over freely - we've run it on air; the reverser is stiff to operate, otherwise everything functions as expected.
