I think somebody set out to build a large 4-6-0 and, having completed it, numbered it 8572 having decided a B12 was the closest living relative (or nearest miss, put another way). Much of the bottom works and front end looks like an un-rebuilt Holden B12, the round-topped boiler is like the rebuilt, Gresley B12. I'm sure somebody knowledgeable in matters LNER will put me right.

TIG-welded copper boiler with stainless steel superheaters (similar construction to my own 7 1/4 inch gauge Stirling Single, which has a fully-welded copper boiler), feed by axle pump and injector with auxiliary hand pump in tender. Inside cylinders, slide valves actuated by Stephenson's valve gear with screw reverser in cab, twin mechanical lubricators.

The engine appears to have been completed a long time ago, but has spent much of its life sitting on a particularly dusty shelf. Standard is workmanlike rather than show-winning, the paintwork is horrible.

Length
Locomotive 46 inches
Tender 24 inches

Weight approx 150 pounds
