Originally known as the \"Gamecock\" class (\u003ca href=\"\/products\/5-inch-gauge-part-built-peckett-gamecock-0-4-0st-stock-code-9465\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ewe sold a part-built one in 2021, pictures in the archive here\u003c\/a\u003e), it was a 7 x 10 inch saddle tank ordered to deliver stone to the Cranmore Stone Works - latterly the class was renamed \"Cranmore\".\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Based on a two foot gauge prototype and built to 2 1\/4 inch scale for 5 inch gauge, it's been built by somebody with a good working knowledge of narrow gauge design - authentic to prototype, well-detailed, the painting and lining typical of the period.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    On arrival with us, an initial steaming showed that the safety valves were beyond useless, running forwards was lack lustre and reverse virtually non-existent!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    So, into the works - safety valves were replaced with commercial pop types, after which the boiler had hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The chassis has had attention from our resident valve-setting expert Chris, which has restored its performance to that which the builder intended - the engine now steams freely and runs very nicely again.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    We're very taken with this one - a well-built, nicely detailed model that, to our eyes, captures the spirit of narrow gauge.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Station Road Steam","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":54020023320917,"sku":"10855","price":5950.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1023\/0094\/2677\/files\/10855-1.webp?v=1779909767","url":"https:\/\/stationroadsteam.com\/products\/5-inch-gauge-peckett-0-4-0st-stock-code-10855","provider":"Station Road Steam","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
