{"product_id":"5-inch-gauge-polly-caroline-0-6-0t-stock-code-10905","title":"5 inch gauge Polly \"Caroline\" 0-6-0T","description":"A 5 inch narrow gauge Polly \"Caroline\", their take on a 1920s-era Orenstein \u0026amp; Koppel contractor's locomotive.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    This one has come to us from a highly experienced model engineer - the builder of one of the finest 7 1\/4 inch gauge railways in the country, as well as several large locomotives to run on it (\u003ca href=\"\/products\/7-14-inch-gauge-baldwin-c19-montezuma-stock-code-7059\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ea few of which we sold some years ago\u003c\/a\u003e when the railway was finally taken up prior to a house move in retirement).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Now in his nineties and still in the workshop, a beam engine is the latest creation taking shape on his bench. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The Polly has been run regularly and modified over the years to suit his own preferences, including the fitting of a trailing truck, converting the standard 0-4-0 design into an 0-4-2.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    The engine has had hydraulic and steam tests since arriving here, with new certification issued (the injector's performance being recorded as \"fantastic\" on the workshop job sheet!).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e    Valves have been set in the workshop - the engine steams freely and runs very well.
