Impressed with this one - boiler and engine started life as  part of a project to build John Haining's \"Caradoc\" steam tractor  (we've got one of those in stock too if you're interested), halfway through it  became rail-born. Nicely proportioned, the builder has taken trouble over the  build with nicely made hinged toolbox on the bunker and radiused end to the  water tank, which is fitted with a filter under the filler flap.  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp align=\"left\"\u003e   Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes by John Rex, 100 psi working pressure,  feed by injector and axle pump with auxiliary hand pump in the front bunker.  Twin cylinder double-high engine, slide valves actuated by Stephenson's gear -  there's a screw reverser on the footplate with an indicator mounted on the valve  chest showing cutoff - chain drive to axles. Displacement lubricator with a tank  that looks big enough for about a week's running!  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp align=\"left\"\u003e   The engine runs well, it's of narrow gauge proportion making for quite a large  engine - ideal for the garden railway, big enough to afford a comfortable  driving position behind it.
