This one was built as  one of a pair by two friends - we sold the other engine a couple of years back -  the builder has several other locomotives and fine clocks to his credit.  \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWelded steel boiler with expanded tubes, 100psi working pressure, feed by  twin injectors - there is a steam pump which runs, but is currently not plumbed  up for water. Boiler piped for compressed air start with connector beneath  nearside running board. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Stephenson's  gear, pole reverser in the cab. Ken Swan's excellent design mechanical  lubricator with sight glass to show oil level.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eThere is a battery in the tender which powers the headlight and running  lights on the locomotive, as well as a compressor for the brakes. Locomotive air  brakes are worked by the handle on the right hand floor of the cab - they work  well, powerful and easy to control - train brakes actuated by a driver's control  on the tender.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eWe were all impressed with this one - it goes really well, a quiet, powerful locomotive  that feels like it could pull a house down. Much prized for heavy-duty club  hauling, the combination of tractive effort and adhesive weight makes for a very  capable engine.
