So much for progress.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003e7 1\/4 inch gauge model, professionally assembled from a kit. The  silver-soldered copper boiler has a working pressure of 100psi, fed by axle  pump, injector and auxiliary hand pump in the side tank. Inside cylinders 1 3\/4  x 3 1\/4 with Stephenson's valve gear operated by screw reverser in the cab.\u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eAlthough a large, powerful engine capable of pulling 12 adults, the 0-4-2  wheel arrangement gives a short rigid wheelbase allowing it to negotiate a 15  foot radius curve. The engine has been used at our local club and has recently  been brought in as part-exchange on a rather nice 5 inch gauge engine. It needs  some minor jobs doing and general tidying up but is is running order with a current club certificate,  expiring August 2004.
