Modelled on a typical nineteenth century factory undertype, the  copper water tube boiler supplies steam to a single cylinder mounted beneath the  smokebox saddle, the crankshaft is mounted in front of the throatplate. The  whole thing is mounted on a substantial brass base, itself on a polished wooden  base. The boiler is clad in blue steel all over. There is no burner but the  model appears to have been spirit-fired in the past - the  burner would stand beneath the firebox, the base is cut away for access.
