Steam whistle, believed to be by Powell of the USA, with what appears to be its original valve. 2 1/2 inch diameter bell, 13 inches overall height on current base. There are a couple of minor dings to the bell, as shown in the pictures and some wrench marks on the acorn nut which would polish out. Haven't cleaned it, they do polish up beautifully if that's what you want to do. Good size for a roller, portable engine etc - single note whistles at this size sound, to my ear, much nicer than the chime types which have a tendency to sound shrill.
