Vintage twin cylinder mill engine - stock code 11297

We sold this one back in 2021 to a long-time customer, a highly talented collector and restorer of vintage stationary engines.

It's recently come back in having had his usual attention - it runs beautifully down to low speed on the merest breath of air, the loudest thing being the click of the mechanical lubricator!

We particularly like the neatly made brass drip trays he's added to catch oil from the drain cocks.

The pictures opposite and video were taken in recent days, the words below from last time it was here.

My favourite from a collection of stationary engines and locomotives which came in recently, a large twin cylinder mill engine, an older model with fine patina.

Beautifully made, with cylinders - fitted with neatly piped drain cocks - mounted on finely proportioned cast iron bed plates. The overhung cranks have split and cottered big ends, connecting rods are finely turned "fish belly" pattern.

Fitted with Watt type governor and mechanical lubricator.
