The hull is formed of copper - the work of a skilled sheet metal worker - with wooden decks marked out in "Admiralty pattern" with an HB pencil to simulate planking before being varnished.
The twin drum water tube boiler - possibly a later replacement - has been converted to gas-firing, it provides steam for a single cylinder slide valve engine with displacement lubricator. We love the vintage Stuart pressure gauge, set into the deck with a neat brass bezel surround.
An article on the restoration featured in "Model Boats" magazine in 2013 with further information about the rebuild, along with many others, on JSB Model Restorations' excellent website - recommended reading, it provides detailed writeups of many different projects, including boats, locomotives and various other vehicles.
In deference to its age, history and condition we'd be reluctant to post this one - you'd be more than welcome to collect from the works or, if time is not of the essence, it might be possible to arrange delivery at modest charge the next time our van is in your area.
