3/4 inch scale Michael Holden agricultural engine

A 3/4 inch scale agricultural engine by Michael Holden of Banbury, a commercial builder of well-regarded models in the 1970s loosely based on Allchin designs.

The company was eventually acquired by Maxwell Hemmens, after which engines continued to be produced under the Taylor-Hemmens badge.

An older engine in "working clothes", with evidence of a good deal of steaming in the past; it turns over freely and runs on air in forwards gear, not in reverse; the regulator leaks and the valve gland requires repacking.

A worthwhile candidate for repainting - there's the potential to make a fine-looking example of this well-regarded, rather rare design. We sold a nicely painted and lined one of these back in 2018, there are pictures in the archive here.
