4 inch scale Burrell agricultural engine with trailer

A 4 inch scale STW Burrell agricultural engine, recently completed to an exceptionally high standard - it is offered as a brand new engine, with full boiler certification and 12 months warranty.

Assembled by an experienced model engineer, the engine has had a "no expense spared" build. Professionally painted in Burrell maroon, with black parts mainly powder coated - the hot bits have been sprayed in heat resistant satin finish paint.

Motionwork and valve gear have been nickel plated, along with the cylinder end covers, hub caps and anything else likely to tarnish or get dirty - the standard plated fasteners supplied with the kit have been replaced with stainless steel.

Expansion link pins have all been replaced with custom made parts, secured by countersunk hex head bolts.

The tender has a sight glass fitted to it to show water level, there's a hose fitting installed connecting to a water tank in the passenger trolley.

Following its first system hydraulic test in the workshop yesterday, the engine was in steam most of this morning - as expected, it runs virtually silently, there's some video of it here.

Complete with all original manufacturer's documentation including initial hydraulic test certificate and assembly instructions, tender-mounted driving seat, two seat trolley incorporating tool lockers and a water tank, and tins of Craftmaster touchup paint.
