5 inch gauge BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No.92220 "Evening Star"

A 5 inch gauge BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No.92000, assembled from a Winson kit supplied new in 2000.

Largely unmodified from standard, it runs surprisingly well - if a little asthmatically - on air although the reverser gearbox is so stiff as to be practically unusable. Something of a pons asinorum in the Winson 9F/Britannia design, it needs disassembling and careful fettling.

The boiler has had a hydraulic test with new certification issued - there are minor leaks from the inner dome joint, which at best would take up under steam, at worst require a new gasket. The fusible plug leaks slightly, it requires either re-leading or replacing.
