SECOND HAND
6862
A 5 inch gauge Royal Scot, in original unrebuilt form - unusually it's a three cylinder engine, most of the Fowler Scots we see are two.
An older engine, it's had a new commercially built boiler fitted in recent times with all new fittings, valves, injectors etc. Chassis is showing signs of wear and paintwork is patinated rather than ex-works - however, it runs well and is a particularly free-steaming engine, there's a clip of it here.
Silver soldered superheated copper boiler, commercially built with CE mark, 90 psi working pressure. Feed by twin injectors with auxiliary hand pump in the tender - the injectors are particularly good, they pick up instantly with capacity well matched to the boiler. Three cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, screw reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
