7 1/4 inch gauge "Hercules" 0-4-2T

A 7 1/4 inch gauge "Hercules", built as an 0-4-2T based on Dick Simmonds' popular 0-4-0T design. An older engine which, whilst in running order, now needs an overhaul.

The boiler appeared structurally sound on hydraulic test at 200psi although with several pinhole leaks on the foundation ring and one on the outer wrapper - all were dry under steam.

The chassis has wear to axleboxes and motionwork - it still actually runs quite nicely if you can put up with the clanking!
