Dairy engine with boiler

A particularly well made example of John Haining's Ransomes, Sims & Jeffries dairy engine design, serialised in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1985.

The work of an award-winning model engineer, responsible for many other models including the Crebbin Cup winning 5 inch gauge Shay we sold earlier in the year, 5 inch gauge "Tich", gauge 1 "Merchant Navy" and 2 inch Clayton steam wagon.

The silver soldered copper boiler is fitted with a ceramic gas burner, the engine is fitted with a boiler feed pump.

In new & unsteamed condition, the engine runs well on compressed air; the boiler has existing club paperwork, with new certification issued in recent days.
