Gauge 1 Atlantic "Southern Belle"

An early stage Atlantic to Martin Evans' "Southern Belle" design, based on the LBSCR engines designed by Marsh.

Largely complete rolling chassis, slide valve cylinders with Stephenson's valve gear. Workmanship is reasonable except for the fluting on the connecting rods, where the builder substantially fell out of bed - the rods remain functional but could no longer be described as pretty.

There's a complete set of as-new drawings and a chimney casting which turned up after I took the pictures.
