5 inch gauge LMS 4P 4-4-0 steam outline

A 5 inch gauge steam outline battery electric, based on LBSC's "Maid of Kent" design. Turned out as Midland 4P No.1082, the original engine was outshopped from Derby Works as one of a batch of six built in 1924.

The basis of the project was a locomotive with failed boiler. A new scheme was worked out with a pair of SLK NP22-12 22Ah batteries and two 24 volt MY1025 250 watt motors installed in the tender driving all three axles by chain.

Motors are driven by a 4QD DNO-10 controller with remote handset for speed and direction control, along with a dead man's handle switch.
