1 1/2 inch scale Allchin traction engine

A 1 1/2 inch scale Allchin, built in the 1990s - it's come to us from the late builder's son, he was a time-served turner who spent his working life on a lathe at a government establishment near Oxford.

Professionally made boiler by Chambers is copper, silver soldered throughout, complete with original builder's test certificate. It's had a twice working pressure hydraulic test in recent days with certificate issued for same. The engine has been run on air in the past but never steamed.

Complete with a set of lamps (and the lead die block used to stamp out the caps), shovel, construction manual, set of drawingsand other odds and ends. One gear guard and the toolbox/running board are loose, to be fitted.

Although in scruffy condition and requiring some tidying up, it has a good boiler and runs on air - a worthwhile winter project, which would repay stripping, cleaning and repainting.
