2 inch scale Clayton & Shuttleworth agricultural engine

We sold this engine last year, it's recently come back in similar condition, with much of the previously noted work attended to. Pictures opposite were taken in recent days.

Now fitted with a mechanical lubricator and hand pump in the tender; new pressure gauge, water gauge and drain cocks, and a new cylinder top cover gasket. A wooden running board with steps has been fitted.

The motionwork and valve gear has been overhauled, with a tiny amount of play remaining in the crank bearings which does not impair its running.

The engine will undoubtedly require some recommissioning work for steaming, however we would warranty the boiler as sound, the engine runs on air in either direction.

A 2 inch scale Clayton & Shuttleworth agricultural engine, rare in this scale (indeed not common in any scale, we've only had three in the last twenty years, those all 4 inch scale engines).

A well-made engine originally, we rather like the now-faded "working clothes" paintwork. It runs well on air, with some wear apparent in the motionwork and valve gear.

Boiler is copper and appear silver soldered with nutted and calked firebox stays. Pressure gauge is redlined at a conservative 50psi - a hydraulic test at twice working pressure showed no signs of leaks or distortion, although the cylinder top cover and fittings leak copiously.
