Exported to Switzerland, it's been on display alongside all manner of nice models for the last ten years, and has recently arrived back with us as the collection is downsized.
We've issued new hydraulic certification and run the engine on air. The words below were written back in 2015, the photographs opposite taken in recent days.
A nicely made 2 inch scale Clayton steam wagon, complete with articulated trailer.
Silver soldered copper boiler, feed by injector and mechanical pump driven from the crankshaft, with auxiliary handpump mounted at the rear. Twin cylinder engine, gunmetal cylinders with slide valves actuated by Allen straight link motion - the builder was obviously proud of his efforts in the engine department, which features a clear perspex cover so you can see the doings when it's going.
