2 inch scale D&NY agricultural engine

A 2 inch scale Durham & North Yorkshire agricultural engine to the John Haining design.

This has come to us from the family of the late builder. Built in 2011, it was rallied frequently and was by all accounts a capable performer.

Unusually, the Steam Technology boiler is steel with copper tubes. Built to the same excellent standard as their copper boilers, Haining was an advocate of steel boilers - we've seen several engines to his designs thus fitted.

On steam test the engine ran well, displaying some wear commensurate with the age and history of the engine. Mechanical and hand pumps are both effective, the injector failed to pick up whatsoever - it will require service or replacement.

Presentation is practical rather than exhibition-winning, one of the studs for the dummy Salter safety valves has been bent.
