2 inch scale Ruston Proctor SD 3 ton steam tractor

A 2 inch scale Ruston Proctor SD 3 ton steam tractor, built to the John Haining design.

A popular engine, we've had these in 2, 3, 4 and 6 inch scale as well as the full-sized replica "Warrior". It's a diminutive engine in full-size, the models all tend to the bijou.

This engine has come to us in part exchange for a 4 inch engine, it's largely complete although missing the finsl drive gear.

Workmanship is pedestrian throughout - the motion is stiff to turn over; flywheel fouls the rear wheel; the builder had a rather idiosyncratic way of erecting Stephenson's gear and the boiler has equal amounts of hard and soft solder.
