4 3/4 inch gauge NER Fletcher 2-4-0

A 4 3/4 inch gauge North Eastern Railway 2-4-0, one of the Fletcher-designed 901 class which were built over a ten year period from 1872 - what we class a "Light Gentleman's Sporting Locomotive" with open cab and rakish looks!

This one has come to us from a large collection of fine locomotives, traction engines and stationary engines where it has been on display for many years. It was painted when it first arrived thirty years ago in lined green panelled in Indian red, with faux wood graining in the cab - commonly seen in locomotives of the era.

Untested, in deference to its age, condition and archaic gauge.
