4 inch scale Clayton & Shuttleworth agricultural engine

A 4 inch scale Clayton & Shuttleworth agricultural, a large, powerful engine in this scale, it arrived last year in part exchange for a Burrell road locomotive. Quite the grubbiest thing we've seen in some years, it looks like it last had a decent clean when Clayton were still turning full-size engines out of Titanic Works.

Welded steel boiler with expanded tubes, built 2001, 120psi working pressure, feed by injector and mechanical pump. Cast iron cylinder with slide valve actuated by Stephenson's gear, whistle, steam siren and lubricator mounted on cylinder block, Watt cross arm type governor.

Four shaft, two speed transmission with differential, rubber tyres on road wheels, winch behind nearside rear wheel with fairleads on tender.

One of the rarer engines we see, certainly different to the rows of Fosters and Burrells at your local rally.

Length 75 inches
Width 29 inches
