5 inch gauge Class 08 shunter

A Class 08 battery electric shunter. An older engine, very much in "working clothes", it has been well-used by its previous owner for GL5 events, including shunting coaches at Gilling.

Powered by a pair of 12 volt batteries, with three motors, one per axle, driving through Delrin gears. The motor controller has a hard-wired remote handset.

There is a smoke generator fitted at the front of the locomotive.

Complete with a spare pair of batteries. On test the locomotive ran in both directions, the horn appears to be defunct.
