PARTS & ACCESSORIES
SECOND HAND
12407
The boiler is by the estimable John Ellis, supplied new in May 2000 and stamped up with his maker's mark, 180psi test pressure and serial number. Beautifully made, we would warranty as sound.
The castings are mainly in gunmetal, with cast iron wheels.
The tender chassis was made to a good standard, although has surfaced extensive surface rust in storage - it needs stripping, cleaning and painting.
In all over two hundredweight of parts, casting and boiler - total cost new today would be in excess of £7,000 for this challenging, highly rewarding project.
Drawings and castings are available from Blackgates Engineering, as ever our friends at Model Engineers Laser list a wide range of high quality profiled parts for those looking for a faster build.
