5 inch gauge LNER B1 "Roedeer"

We sold this one as a project back in January - runs well although firebox has some leaky stays. Recently returned as part exchange against the "barn find" Standard Class 2, it's in substantially the same condition, if somewhat grubbier. Words below and photographs opposite are from 2015.

A finely made 5 inch gauge LNER B1, the engine is well detailed, fit and finish of the motionwork particularly good. The work of a local engineer who was also responsible for a 3 1/2 inch gauge Black 5 and 4 inch scale Clayton wagon we've sold recently, the engine has been unused for some years.

Silver soldered copper boiler with radiant superheaters, 90psi working pressure, feed by injector, axle pump and auxiliary hand pump in the tender. Cast iron cylinders with piston valves actuated by Walschaert's gear, screw reverser in cab. Mechanical lubricator. Paintwork is generally very good, cabside numbers are worn and one spectacle frame is missing.
