5 inch gauge LNER B1

We sold this one in 2021, pretty much as soon as it arrived. We'd bought it new and unsteamed, commissioning and steam-testing the engine before sale.

It's recently come back in part exchange against "Bradley Manor", having been spent the last two years on display, unsteamed - our test back then remains the one occasion it's been fired. Pictures opposite and words below are from last time it was here - the engine remains in as-new condition throughout.

An exceptionally well-built 5 inch gauge LNER B1 "Gazelle" to Martin Evans' "Springbok" design. The engine came to us recently new and unsteamed from a long time customer, a highly experienced model engineer.

After hydraulic test and running on air to check the valve setting we steamed it for the first time earlier in the week.

Fit and finish of machined parts is very good, the valves accurately set. Platework is neatly formed, the painting and lining in LNER apple green is well executed.

It goes particularly well - a nicely put together engine, there's some video of it running here.
