5 inch gauge LNER V1

A finely built 5 inch gauge LNER V1 2-6-2T to Martin Evans' "Enterprise" design, based on Gresley's three cylinder V1/V3 class built in the 1930s.

The engine has come to us as part of a collection of locomotives from an experienced model engineer with several fine engines to his credit.

During his ownership of the V1, it has been stripped, overhauled and repainted to a high standard.

Boiler has had hydraulic and steam tests this week with certification for same. The engine steams freely, runs beautifully and looks very handsome sitting on the sideboard - ticks all the boxes really!
