An interesting old engine, it came from the "château collection" that John and I went over to France for last year, a large collection of locomotives left locked up in the late owner's large house for twenty years.
It's an ancient thing, built in a somewhat naive style although reputedly from the locomotive works where the full-size engines were overhauled. Chassis is seized, we suspect pistons in bores, not unusual in an engine unused for many years.
