7 1/4 inch gauge 4-4-2T

A 7 1/4 inch gauge 4-4-2T, commercially built by John Clark of Denbigh in 1970.

The engine has come to us, if not quite in "barn find" condition, certainly bottom end of the "shed find" market. Scruffy although still free to roll, it requires restoration.

On hydraulic test at twice working pressure the boiler appeared structurally sound and dry inside, with one weep from a broken screw which holds the firehole door latch.

The engine appears complete bar a missing injector; regulator is seized. Rather neglected in recent times, this would be a worthwhile restoration project - it's a well-proportioned engine, a good sized tank locomotive with interesting provenance.
